Formatting:
Please don't use any additional formatting tricks in your article besides the title and heading styles used here. In particular:
Please don't create your manuscript in Word, which generates all sorts of extra HTML that clutters the server and makes your article look weird compared to everything else on our site. Microsoft FrontPage is entirely adequate for authoring, especially if you use just to create "pages" instead of "webs".

Writing style:
We don't have lots of fancy rules about writing style, but there are a few common mistakes that we'd like you to avoid:
Get a copy of Strunk & White's Elements of Style to learn more about effective writing.
Be prepared for a developmental edit, in which one of our editors makes constructive suggestions for how you can rewrite your submission to be more effective. Publishing is a team effort, and authors and editors all have something to contribute to the final product. In the end, your name will be on the article, so you'll get all the credit for the editors' work.
How to submit:
The text of your article should be an HTML file with a file extension of .HTM. Package it along with your figure-GIF's into a .ZIP file and e-mail it manuscripts@wd-3.com.
Include this section at the end of the article. The "Author's Name" line in the heading links to this section. Include a few lines about yourself and what you do for a living. You may include a brief and tasteful mention of your company's products or services here, along with a link to a commercial site.
